Jacob then summarizes what he has seen by saying that the descendants of the Nephites will be afflicted by the Gentiles but in due time the hearts of the Gentiles shall be softened and many of the Gentiles will be numbered among the children of Israel. Furthermore the land will be consecrated to God and he will require that all who occupy this land shall worship the Lord their God or be cast off.
