“And Their Hearts Are Upon Their Treasures”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Woes are pronounced on various kinds of people who are temporally or spiritually challenged. Those who have an abundance of worldly things—basking in wealth—often do not need God: “their treasure is their god,” and “their treasure shall perish with them.”

The spiritually deaf, blind, and uncircumcised of heart, along with the liars, murderers, whores, and idolaters who refuse to repent and therefore “die in their sins,” will face God and punishment.
