“Wo Unto the Rich”
The love of money, not money itself, is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Indeed, it is impossible for those who trust in their riches to enter into the kingdom of heaven (JST, Mark 10:26). Such persons are guilty of idolatry; they place other gods (in this case, worldly prosperity) before the worship of Jehovah. It was the Master himself that taught us to “beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15).
