Jacob now reads to the people directly from the plates of brass. This is almost identical with the Biblical version of Isaiah chapter 50.
God knew that with the passing of time the scattered children of Israel would think God had deserted them. The truth is that they had deserted the God. The Lord asks this pointed question: "To whom have I sold you? Behold, for your iniquities you have sold yourselves!"
