Jacob, having announced that in his second coming Christ will recover Israel, quoted Isaiah’s prophecy to that effect. From this oracle we learn that it will not be guns or planes or military strategy or battlefield courage that redeems Israel; Jesus the Christ will deliver and redeem his people- both temporally and spiritually.
