Jacob had seen in vision that the Gentiles of the latter days would be greatly blessed and would continue to be blessed so long as they did not fight against God's latter-day Zion or join in support of the great and abominable church. In fact, the vision showed that the repentant Gentiles would be saved right along with the people of Israel if they accept God's covenant and prepared themselves for the second coming of Christ.
