Called of God; Ordained; Consecrated; Desirous for the Welfare of Your Souls; Words of My Father; All Things Which Are Written; Things Which Are, and Which Are to Come; Learn and Glorify the Name of Your God

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

These key words identify the pattern by which Jacob fulfills his spiritual mission among the people. He is an authorized servant of God who is motivated by a pure desire to bless lives through conveying the words of the prophets—both present and past. He desires that others have the opportunity of enhancing their spiritual awareness and coming to know and glorify God. What a useful checklist for us as “fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19). What is our calling? What is our motivation? What tools do we use? What is the objective of our service? In the space of just three verses we have a road map of how to fulfill our mission on earth.
