Jacob was "called" of God. He was "ordained" after the manner of his holy order, and he was "consecrated" by his brother.
King. Nephi was regarded as a king, but not as a despot. As a "protector." As a king he was the servant of the people. But he was also a prophet, and as such, he spoke and acted for the Lord.
