Nephi writes that God has granted him spiritual visions, angelic ministrations, protection from enemies, unfathomable love, and mighty answers to prayer. Why, then, does he feel so utterly dejected and alone? This section of Nephi’s psalm reflects other elements often found in psalms of lament: physical diminishment and an impossibly heavy heart.
