“Thou Shalt Be Even Like Unto Thy Brother”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Sam, the third son of Lehi and Sariah, is given a special blessing by his father, including the prophecy that he will be like Nephi and that his posterity will be like Nephi’s posterity. What more encouraging promise could there be for a son than to be like the paragon of obedience and spiritual purity represented by a brother such as Nephi? And what more glorious forecast for one’s life could there be than to be “blessed in all thy days”? Lehi’s vision enables him to foresee the persisting goodness of his son over the years.
