Surely this was a strange blessing. Lehi knew the minds of these young people had been poisoned by their rebellious parents and therefore he says: "If ye are cursed, I bless you that the cursing may be answered upon the heads of your parents." Then he adds that as a result of the blessing he was pronouncing upon the children of Laman, they would survive as a people and receive some special blessings far in the future.
