People are “free forever” because of Christ’s sacrifice. They will still suffer the natural consequences of poor or harmful choices, but they always remain free to choose good or evil for themselves. Note that in the 1981 edition, which Latter-day Saints use today, “mediation” has been changed to “Mediator.”
