Redemption Through Christ

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

He answers the ends of the law for the benefit of all who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit. That is to say, when the law, as the accuser, urges the penalty of separation of the transgressor from God and all that is good, the Holy Messiah, as the Defender, replies that the accused is his, by virtue of his sacrifice for sin. The law has no further claim on him. Christ rose from the dead by the power of the Spirit, for the purpose of bringing a general resurrection to pass; and he rose first in order to make intercession for all men, and save those who believe in him. Through his intercession all will be resurrected; the believers will be saved.

Furthermore, through his intercession for all men, they will be judged in accordance with divine principles of truth and holiness. There can be no mistake. Even those who are under condemnation will acknowledge the justice of the decrees of God.

"Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments."

On the subject of the law, see 3:20-26.
