“They Shall Not Hunger nor Thirst”

Brant Gardner

Yahweh continues to describe the blessed state of the redeemed. When they return to Yahweh, he will guide them, providing food, drink, and shelter from the burning sun. Although these images represent spiritual hunger, thirst, and suffering, this passage would be especially comforting to the Lehites who had suffered hunger, thirst, and oppressive heat as they crossed the desert.
