It is the mission of the children of Israel, as a nation, to be a light to the Gentiles. But that mission they cannot fill until they themselves have, as it were, become transfigured by the glories of Bethlehem and Tabor and Golgotha and the Mount of Olives, and they can say with the Psalmist: "The Lord is my Light." (Rev. 21:23)
