“An Olive-tree”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The olive tree, an emblem of peace and purity, was frequently used by the ancient prophets as an allegorical representation of Israel or the church and kingdom of God (see Jacob 5; Romans 11:17-34). The families of Lehi and Ishmael were a transplanted branch from that tree.
