Who are these “others who have been” (meaning, “existed”) who have also seen “all things?” No names are given, but Yahweh here lets Nephi know that he has joined other prophets in foreseeing the entire future of the world, including its end.
Although this reference is tantalizing, we in modern times have no idea whether these records have already been revealed or are yet to be revealed. Certainly numerous manuscripts that have come forth in recent years, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library, may be examples. However, the point for modern readers is not that we are awaiting confirmation from other sources but rather that Nephi’s and John’s end-time visions are not isolated incidents. They will corroborate each other.
