Where is this war? Where is it fought? It is waged every day in our communities and our nations. It is waged over airwaves and print. It is waged in quiet and subtle ways, but it is a war nevertheless. Anything that takes us down the “other” path cannot lead us to salvation. We live on a battlefield. While the vision of the discovery of the New World was describing a particular war (or set of wars), this one is symbolic, rather than literal.
