“The Saints… Were… Upon All the Face of the Earth”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

This pertains to a day yet future. The Saints of the Most High are not yet, as a people and with organized congregations, established upon all the face of the earth. When the day comes that they are, they still will not compare in power with the forces of evil. (The Millennial Messiah p. 55)

The Savior prophesied that “this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come, or the destruction of the wicked” (Joseph Smith Matthew 1:31).

The spread of truth will be such that Mormon missionaries and members will be found in all lands before the great and dreadful day of the Second Advent; holy temples will extend the blessings of the ancient fathers to all peoples, such that “ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands” (Revelation 5:11) will cry out in adoration to the Lamb:

“Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof [the record of the seven thousand years of the earth’s temporal continuance-D&C 77:6-7]: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priest; and we shall reign on the earth”

(Revelation 5:9-10).
