Now we know there are many denominations but the angel says that according to eternal principles there are, in the final analysis, only two churches -- the church of Christ or the church of Satan. The angel refers to the church of Satan as the whore of the whole earth -- she is the fountain of evil, immorality and debauchery who seeks to ensnare the Father's children. Nephi was allowed to see Satan's church and it had captured most of the world.
