The coming forth of the Book of Mormon is here referred to, as the beginning of the proclamation of the gospel and the foundation of the latter-day church. The effects of this upon the children of men will be, either peace and life eternal, or a further hardening of the hearts and mental blindness, followed by both temporal and spiritual destruction.
