“The Spirit of God… Wrought Upon Other Gentiles”

The Spirit of God is also the spirit of freedom, Pahoran later taught in the Nephite record (see Alma 61:15). A modern revelation beckoned to the Latter-day Saints: “Put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good-yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit” (D&C 11:12). Oppression and coercion and ignorance and suppression of the will are all alien to that spiritual influence which has been given to liberate mankind from sin and selfishness and subservience. One who yields himself to the impressions of heaven will eventually be freed from falsehood as well as the indignities associated with the shackles of servitude.
