“Yoketh Them with a Yoke of Iron”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Over the decades following the death of the Apostles and the loss of the keys of the priesthood, darkness covered the earth and gross darkness filled the minds of the people. Men no longer knew their God or how to return to the divine presence. Cruelty and coercion and chains were used to bind the bodies of nonconformers; sin and ignorance bound the hearts and minds of masses of humanity walking in forbidden paths.
