Now the vision leaves the “old world” of Jerusalem and captures the future of Nephi’s descendants in the “New World” where he and his family are about to move. (Many Mormon scholars believe that Nephite civilization was located somewhere in Central or South America, with some later Book of Mormon events happening in what is now North America. However, this is the subject of some debate.)
