“Behold Thy Seed”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

From the vision of Nephi we find the truth confirmed that the mission and Atonement of the Savior serves as a beacon of hope and truth to guide generations through mortality. When a nation such as the Nephites honors the covenant promises, they prosper and blossom; but as they succumb to pride and worldliness, they decline and ultimately perish. That is the message and the warning of the Book of Mormon.

Nephi and his circle of loved ones initially constitute but a handful of God’s children. Yet in time they number in the millions. What a momentous view is given Nephi to see how this branch of Israel evolves and develops, ever unfolding or declining according to the willingness of the people to remain aligned with righteous principles—or to defect therefrom.
