“Love of God”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The love of God is expressed through Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice. This love can never fail—“for charity never faileth” (Moroni 7:46). If you build your life upon the Savior and are filled with this love, you will be like Him (see John 3:16; 2 Nephi 26:24; Helaman 5:12; Moroni 7:44–48). You will attain to the tree of life and partake of its precious fruit, “the most desirable above all things.”

These passages of scripture raise another important question of conscience. The love of God is desirable above all other things to make one happy. Happiness is not only the design of our existence but what we cherish most. Do we have a deep desire and a plan to partake of the love of God (see also 1 Nephi 8:30; 11:25; Moroni 7:48)?
