Mary was overcome by the Spirit in her conception. This immaculate conception has been doubted by many skeptics. We see that the Book of Mormon again confirms the truth of the Bible as contained in Luke 1:35 and Matthew 1:20. The fact remains, Jesus of Nazareth was the mortal son of Mary and God the Eternal Father. This incredible reality is referred to many times by the Lord during his ministry, My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one (Jn 10:29-30).
