As Nephi recounted Moses’s miracle at the Red Sea, he used it as a type, comparable to the situation he and his brothers were in. To inspire his brothers, he “likens” (1 Nephi 19:23) them to the ancient Israelites delivered by the Lord and Laban to the Egyptians.
