“The Record Which I Make is True”
Here Nephi testified of the truth of his record and of its literal nature. The Book of Mormon is not fable or myth, finding meaning, like a Shakespearean play, in the wisdom of lines spoken by actors of fictitious character. It is the history of an actual people—the events it records, historical realities.
