Keys to Understanding Isaiah

2 Nephi 25:1–3: Nephi admits that Isaiah’s words are hard to understand, this is because they require a knowledge of the manner of Hebrew prophecy.
2 Nephi 25:4: Isaiah’s words are to be understood plainly through the spirit of prophecy.
2 Nephi 25:5–6: Nephi delights in Isaiah’s words, and is informed by his knowledge of Judean geography and Jewish prophecy.
2 Nephi 25:7–8: Nephi prefaces his own prophesies; Isaiah words will be particularly relevant to those in the last days.

2 Nephi 25:9–10: All civilizations are warned before they are destroyed: Jerusalem will be destroyed by Babylon.
2 Nephi 25:11–13: Jerusalem will be freed, and the Messiah will visit the Jews, but he will be rejected and killed, but he will be resurrected.
2 Nephi 25:14–16: After the Messiah’s resurrection, Jerusalem will again be destroyed, and the Jews will be scattered.
2 Nephi 25:17–19: The Messiah will restore his gospel and gather the people of Israel.
2 Nephi 25:20: Jesus Christ is the only means by which salvation may be obtained.
2 Nephi 25:21–22: The knowlege of the Messiah will be preserved.
2 Nephi 25:23: Nephi tries to convince people to believe in God and be saved by his grace.

2 Nephi 25:24–27: The Nephites keep to law of Moses as it leads them to Christ.
2 Nephi 25:28–30: Nephi teaches the right way— the law of Moses must be kept until Christ comes to fulfill it.

2 Nephi 26:1–3: Jesus Christ will appear to Nephites in the promised land; signs and wonders will accompany Jesus’ death.
2 Nephi 26:4–6: Those who oppose God and kill prophets will be completely destroyed.
2 Nephi 26:7–9: The righteous will not be destroyed, and the Nephites will live peacefully for nearly four generations.
2 Nephi 26:10–11: The Nephite civilization will then be destroyed.
2 Nephi 26:12–13: God manifests himself unto all nations.

2 Nephi 26:14–16: In the last days, the posterity of Nephi’s brothers, the Lamanites, will be spoken to by the fallen Nephite people.
2 Nephi 26:17–19: This will be done by means of the Book of Mormon.
2 Nephi 26:20–21: Meanwhile, the Gentiles will have built up many false churches.
2 Nephi 26:22–23: Secret combinations will also run rampant.

2 Nephi 26:24–25: God loves the world, and invites all to partake of his salvation.
2 Nephi 26:26–28: God wants everyone to come unto him.
2 Nephi 26:29–31: The Lord condemns priestscrafts, and commands all to have charity.
2 Nephi 26:32–33: God gives commandments for the good of his children, whom he loves.

2 Nephi 27:1–2: In the last days, the world will be corrupt.
2 Nephi 27:3: Those who oppose the Kingdom of God will find ultimate dissatisfaction and misery.
2 Nephi 27:4–5: The Lord will curse the iniquitous people.

2 Nephi 27:6–8: A sealed book will be brought forth by the Lord.
2 Nephi 27:9–11: The book will be given to a man, and will eventually be published widely.
2 Nephi 27:12–14: The book, kept secret from the world, will be witnessed by several people.
2 Nephi 27:15–18: The words of the book will be taken to a learned man, who will declare he cannot read it.
2 Nephi 27:19–23: The words will be brought forth by an uneducated man, witnessed by others, and will contain a sealed portion that must be hidden up again after they are viewed.

2 Nephi 27:24–26: The Lord condemns the hypocrites, and announces the restoration of the gospel.
2 Nephi 27:27: The Lord asserts his omniscience and condemns the prideful.
2 Nephi 27:28–32: God will demonstrate his power to those who reject his message.
2 Nephi 27:33–35: The house of Jacob will be blessed.

2 Nephi 28:1–2: The contents of the Book of Mormon will be very valuable.
2 Nephi 28:3–4: Every church will claim to be the true church.
2 Nephi 28:5–6: Denying God’s power, churches will claim that miracles and revelations are over.
2 Nephi 28:7–10: Many will claim that rationalization of sin is acceptable.
2 Nephi 28:11–14: Pride and false doctrine will result in the corruption of religion.
2 Nephi 28:15: Teachers of false religion are condemned to hell.
2 Nephi 28:16–18: The wicked will die, but repentance can save them.

2 Nephi 28:19–20: The devil and his minions must be challenged.
2 Nephi 28:21–23: The devil, through various means, convinces people that there is nothing to be feared; meanwhile, hell awaits.

2 Nephi 28:24–29: Curses come upon those who to don’t follow God’s words, or who reject God’s word when it is given.
2 Nephi 28:30–31: God reveals his word bit by bit, through the Holy Ghost.
2 Nephi 28:32: Despite the sins of the Gentiles, God offers repentance unto them.

2 Nephi 29:1–3: At the time of the restoration of the gospel, many people will claim that Bible is God’s last and final word.
2 Nephi 29:4–5: God explains that the Bible is merely his word as revealed to the Jews.
2 Nephi 29:6–8: God has children other than the Jews, and as such, reveals his word to them as well; two records from two different peoples vindicate and support one another.
2 Nephi 29:9–11: God speaks to all nations, and if he spoke to one, he can also speak to another.
2 Nephi 29:12–14: The records of the Jews, Nephites, and other civilizations will all eventually come together.

2 Nephi 30:1–2: There is hope for the Gentiles—they can repent.
2 Nephi 30:3–6: The Book of Mormon will convince many of the truth about Jesus Christ.
2 Nephi 30:7: The Jews will come to a knowledge of Christ and will begin to be gathered in Zion.
2 Nephi 30:8: God will initiate the restoration of the gospel.
2 Nephi 30:9–10: God’s judgment will bless the righteous and curse the wicked.
2 Nephi 30:11–15: Earth will become an Eden.
2 Nephi 30:16–18: All things will be revealed unto God’s people.
