“I Judge That Ye Have Faith in Christ Because of Your Meekness”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Mormon saw that his brethren to whom he spoke were meek and willing to show their faith in Christ by good works-works of righteousness. He also saw in their humility a complete dependence on God, and therein a meekness which the Lord Jesus Himself promised that such a one would inherit the Earth; not as conquering invaders, but as children and heirs of Him, Who is the Ruler of all. Mormon interpreted their integrity to Christ's teachings as a mark of their faith in Him, saying: "If ye have not faith in Him then are ye not fit to be numbered among the people of His Church." (v. 39)
