“The Army of Coriantumr Did Pitch Their Tents by the Hill Ramah”

Brant Gardner

Geography: Coriantumr’s army, pursuing Shiz’s army, stops at Ramah. Therefore, Shiz’s army had fled “southward” from north of Ramah to south of the hill, farther south than Coriantumr. Moroni clearly identifies Ramah as “that same hill where my father Mormon did hide up the records unto the Lord.” The Nephites knew Ramah as Cumorah. (See Map, “Plausible Locations of the Final Battles,” p. 99.)
