The War Casualties Among the Jaredites

Daniel H. Ludlow

The great civil war among the Jaredites may have been the bloodiest war ever fought on the American continents. Even before the last great battle, the historian records that "two millions of mighty men, and also their wives and their children" had been killed. (Ether 15:2.) And these casualties were for only one of the armies involved! In order to compare the extent of these casualties with those suffered by the Nephites during the battle of Cumorah, re-read Mormon 6:10-15. Also, to compare the extent of these casualties with those suffered by the United States, see the table and materials listed following Mormon 6:11-15.
