“Battle Unto Coriantumr”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The remainder of the chapter recounts the ferocious battles that raged between Coriantumr and the rebels who sought to overthrow him and who were supported in their rebellion by secret combinations. Terrible bloodshed enveloped the land, and the sights and scents of death permeated the entire area. Perhaps millions of Jaredite men, women, and children were slaughtered in these battles, and their bodies covered the landscape. It was impossible for any inhabitants to escape the horrors of these wars.
