Redaction: Ether’s vision includes a contrast between the Old Jerusalem and the New Jerusalem; but again, Moroni refers to this vision without quoting it. In a rather complicated clarification, Moroni explains that the Old Jerusalem, destroyed after the Lehites left, might have been rebuilt, but that rebuilding did not make it the “New” Jerusalem. Since Ether would not know either city, except through vision, this explanation must be Moroni’s.
