“The Death of Christ Bringeth to Pass the Resurrection”

The Messiah is the instrument of humankind’s reconciliation with Yahweh. Moroni is not teaching the nature of the atonement but citing it as a witness of Yahweh’s power. In doing so, he reiterates doctrines from the Nephite prophets. Nephi₁ taught this doctrine in 1 Nephi 15:31 and 2 Nephi 9:11. Alma₂ taught about the resurrection from temporal death in Alma 11:42, Alma 12:23–24, and Alma 42:8–9. But where they explained, Moroni states. For Moroni, the atonement and resurrection are accepted teachings being used as evidence.
