“They Did Beat the Nephites and They Fled Again from Before Them”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Unable to withstand the overwhelming tide of the soldiers of the Lamanites, the Nephites again fled before the oncoming foe, this time until they came to the City Boaz. At last when all else seemed vain, the Nephites turned upon the invading force of Lamanites, and gave battle to them with such fierceness that it was not until the Lamanites came upon them the second time that the Nephites gave way. The previous scene was reenacted. The Nephites lost many men in those who were slain, and again the women and children captives were "sacrificed unto idols." The Nephites continued to flee. They seemed utterly routed.
