“The Strength of the Lord Was Not with Us”

To ensure that we do not disqualify ourselves from having the strength of the Lord we must live our lives in such a way as not to repel the Spirit. By being faithful, obedient, penitent, and spiritually vigilant we can have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, which strengthens and protects in both physical and spiritual ways (we D&C 35:14; D&C 84:33; D&C 89:18-20; see also Teachings, p. 323).
