The Lamanite/Gadianton army had forced the Nephites from Jashon but apparently allowed them to stop in Shem, since they could not have “come upon us again” unless the attack had stopped for a time—most probably because of the rainy season.

Geography: These locations do not appear elsewhere in the record.

Chronology: The 346th year would be A.D. 336.
