“Neither Was It Given Unto Them Power That They Could Utter the Things Which They Saw and Heard”

Mormon, the historian, tries to explain the marvelous transition which occurred after these three were transfigured. They seemed to remain mortal and yet they had the capacity to enjoy the powers and blessings of immortal beings. We learn from verse 26 that Mormon -- around 385 A.D. -- had been administered to by these three transfigured disciples, but even then he could not decide whether they were mortal or immortal.
