It is of interest to note how important the scriptures are in the eyes of the Lord. The resurrected Jesus Christ not only read the records of the Nephites and asked the people to do the same, but he also commanded that an important element that had been omitted should be added to the records to make them complete. (3 Nephi 23:7-14.) Thus he was not only supporting the testimony of his servant, Samuel the Lamanite, but he was also helping to make the scriptures complete in and of themselves so far as testimony is concerned.
