“They Went Down Unto the Water’s Edge”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The conference then adjourned to the water's edge. First, Nephi went into the water and was baptized, and thereupon he baptized all "those whom Jesus had chosen." Then the fervent petitions that the Holy Ghost be given them, was answered, for they, the Disciples, were filled with the Spirit as with fire, and what is more, sacred times encircled them about, and angels from Heaven came and ministered to them.

By and by, Jesus, Himself, came and stood in the midst of His Disciples, and taught them more of the Plan of Salvation. He commanded them all, the people and the Twelve, to again kneel upon the earth, and the Disciples He instructed to pray. And they prayed unto Jesus, calling Him their Lord and their God.
