“Set Them Down Upon the Ground Round About”

The description of the children being placed “round about” Jesus gives us the picture of a rough circle around Jesus of scores of children. At his request, the multitude knelt. The Book of Mormon does not describe kneeling prayer as a cultural pattern, but this request doubtless communicated that they were about to engage in a particularly spiritual occasion.
