“I Say Unto You Swear Not at All”

The old time law was, "Thou shalt not forswear thyself." Our Lord says, "Swear not at all." Man has nothing to swear by, nothing to offer as a pledge for his veracity. Neither heaven nor earth, neither his head nor even his hair belongs to him. "Let your communication be Yea, yea; Nay, nay." More than that is evil.
