“While Ye Are in Prison Can Ye Pay Even One Senine? Verily”

W. Cleon Skousen

These last three verses refer to the prison or spiritual purgatory in the next life. There the wicked who refused to accept the gospel or receive the forgiveness of their sins either in the flesh or in the spirit world are subjected to most agonizing torture of their spirits in what is called purgatory, and they stay there until they have paid the uttermost farthing for their individual sins. Jesus says we should clear up any offenses we may have committed against a brother in this life so that we will not have to pay for it in the next life.
