“Behold, Do Men Light a Candle and Put It Under a Bushel?”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

They were also to be a light unto this people. In answer to the foregoing question which He, Himself, asks, He says, "Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house." But if it goes out in darkness, it is still more useless. Under a bushel this cover might become even a stumbling block in the darkness. Hence the necessity of keeping the commandments.

But they must be kept as the Lord interprets them, and not men. And so, our Lord, in this discourse, gives us his explanation concerning them.
