“Blessed Are Ye If Ye Shall Give Heed Unto the Words of These Twelve”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The instructions noted above were given to Nephi and the Disciples whom Jesus had chosen to preach and baptize. To the multitude, Jesus said, "Blessed are ye, if ye shall heed unto the words of these whom I have chosen from among you to minister unto you, and be your servants." The Savior promised them the Holy Ghost on condition of faith and baptism, after that ye have Me and know that I am. Seeing and knowing should produce faith.

Having instructed the Twelve Disciples regarding baptism, and authorized them to teach and baptize, our Lord delivered the discourse recorded in this Chapter. (12) It was mainly directed to the Disciples, and parts of it were intended for them, but it was spoken in the hearing of the assembled throng.
