When the sunshine replaced the soggy darkness of the past three days it made the people gradually realize how fortunate and blessed they had been to still be alive. After measuring the devastations that lay all around them they finally gave up their lamentations and got around to praising the Lord and acknowledging that they were greatly blessed indeed to escape being burned, crushed, smothered by the smoke and fumes or carried away in the whirlwind.
