“That I May Heal You”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The solemn benediction pronounced by the heavenly Voice upon the "fear-becrazed" survivors of the great catastrophe that had engulfed the entire Nephite Land, gave hope and courage to its distraught people who were about to despair. The Lord, seeing their distress, pitied them, and said: "Whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto Me." (v. 14) Strongly marked with Heaven's gracious command, were other blessings the Voice proclaimed, chiefest among these was the promise "that I may heal you." (v. 13) Repentance was the condition thereof, "and a return unto Me," the price. We understand the phrase, "that I may heal you," means, make whole from any and all afflictions whatsoever, especially, those of the spirit.
