“Sink into the Depths of the Sea”

Brant Gardner

The city of Moroni was on a coast, and was destroyed by the sea. Either a massive earthquake caused the land to sink, or the ocean itself rose up. While an earthquake can certainly trigger a tsunami, the direction of the shock wave would move away from the earthquake. Thus, the sinking of the land is more likely.
